Federal government organizations have been viewed as cautious adopters of new technologies. Cloud computing, however, has captured the attention of many government IT decision makers. The U.S. Defense Department’s Defense Information System Agency is, in fact, already fielding a cloud computing infrastructure. In October 2008, through on-line surveys and in-depth interviews, customer requirements and concerns were gathered in order to shed light on current cloud computing offerings targeted for government customer. This session will review that survey and update the audience on insights, opportunities and important trends in this market segment.
Speaker Bio:
Kevin Jackson is the Director Business Development for Dataline, LLC and the author of “Cloud Musings”, a blog dedicated to government cloud computing. His previous positions include Strategic Computer Solutions VP, IBM Worldwide Sales Executive and JP Morgan Chase VP. Mr. Jackson has a BS in Aerospace Engineering, a MA in National Security & Strategic Studies and a MS in Computer Engineering. He is Tech Chair of SYS-CON's 1st Annual Government IT Conference & Expo.
